DOJ’s voter roll blitz proving to be fool’s gold

  • It’s a new month, but the DOJ remains steadfast in its dogged pursuit of state’s unredacted voter data. This month, they will head to court in Vermont, New Mexico and New Hampshire.

  • The DOJ’s recent blunders haven’t completely derailed their litigation blitz, but the department has been highly unsuccessful in court. We’ll be watching to see whether these courts buy what the DOJ is selling.

Is Georgia’s voter roll maintenance a hoax?

  • In Georgia, far-right activists are also raising questions about the accuracy of Georgia’s voter rolls. A federal judge already dismissed the case. Now, the activists are hoping to convince a panel of judges in the 11th Circuit that something is wrong with Georgia’s rolls. 

Will unclear ballot language trick Missouri voters?

  • Missouri voters may not get a say in what congressional map the state uses for the 2026 midterms, but they may have a say in what map applies in 2028. That’s why voting rights advocates will be back in court seeking clear and accurate ballot language for the redistricting referendum to avoid voter confusion.

    • The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument on whether Trump’s birthright citizenship order is constitutional. 

  • April 14
     
    • A federal court will hear the DOJ’s lawsuit seeking access to voter roll data in Vermont. 

  • April 21
     
    • A federal court will hear the DOJ’s lawsuit seeking access to voter data in New Mexico. 

  • April 24
     
    • The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals will hear a right-wing lawsuit challenging Georgia’s voter roll maintenance policies. 

  • April 29
     
    • A federal court will hear the DOJ’s lawsuit seeking access to voter data in New Hampshire.

    • The Missouri State Supreme Court will hear arguments over ballot language for a referendum to block the legislature’s new pro-GOP gerrymander. 

  • April 30
     
    • The 5th Circuit will hear oral arguments in a lawsuit challenging provisions of  Texas’ voter suppression law.
