Donald Trump can’t hide it anymore: He is panicking about the release of the Epstein Files. After months of containment, the last few days have seen a series of cascading events that threaten to expose his deepest secrets. 

For weeks, Trump has desperately tried to prevent the House from voting to obtain and release the Epstein Files. Even as his Department of Justice has stonewalled, others — including the Epstein estate — have stepped forward to provide critical documents. As those documents have become public, Trump’s claims that he hardly knew Epstein have been disproven.

Unable to stop an imminent vote in the House, Trump first turned to intimidation tactics. When those failed, he abruptly shifted course.

Last night, in a fit of desperation and panic, Trump posted on Truth Social that he now supports Republicans voting to release the files: “As I said on Friday night aboard Air Force One to the Fake News Media, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.”

But a quick check of the transcript confirms that Trump never said Republicans should vote to release the files. And Trump clearly has much to hide.

He continues by falsely claiming that the DOJ “has already turned over tens of thousands of pages to the public on ‘Epstein’” and asserting that the Department is “looking at various Democrat operatives (Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, Larry Summers, etc.) and their relationship to Epstein.”

Trump failed to mention that the DOJ is allegedly investigating these men because Trump himself ordered the investigation on Friday.

Finally, in a cryptic statement, Trump declares that “the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DON'T CARE!” Trump no doubt believes that adding “legally entitled to” will protect him — and he most certainly does care.

We are at a critical point in the Epstein saga. Trump is on the defensive, and his latest post raises more questions than answers. In the past, we could count on the corporate-owned legacy media to demand accountability. Now, it is hard to know where they stand.

That’s why I would like to offer 10 questions the media should ask Trump — questions they should keep asking until he answers. How forcefully the legacy media pursues Trump’s ties to Epstein will make clear which outlets are protecting democracy and which have capitulated.

Questions the Media Should Ask Trump

1. In your Monday social media post, you claimed that you said on Friday, “House Republicans should release the Epstein Files,” even though the video clearly shows you did not. Was this a deliberate lie? Are you suffering from a medical condition or taking medication that makes it difficult to remember what you said only days earlier?
   
   
2. You now say that “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein Files.” What about Senate Republicans? Will you publicly state that they should vote to release the files as well? Will you commit to signing into law any House bill that obtains and releases the files?
   
   
3. The House Oversight Committee has already subpoenaed many documents from the Department of Justice. Will you order Pam Bondi and Kash Patel to comply fully and promptly with those subpoenas, without withholding any materials?
   
   
4. Do you support releasing any photographs or video recordings of men who visited Epstein or underage girls? Will you instruct Bondi and Patel to prioritize the release of such materials?
   
   
5. You said that “the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to.” Are there files you believe they are not entitled to? Has Pam Bondi or anyone else told you certain files should be withheld? Regardless of legal entitlement, will you commit to releasing all files?
   
   
6. If you want the Epstein Files released, why don’t you simply order the DOJ and the FBI to release them now?
   
   
7. On Friday, you said the Epstein Files were “another Russia, Russia, Russia scam.” Why are you comparing an investigation involving Epstein to the 2016 Russia investigation? Is there something about your relationship with Russia that you believe parallels the evidence of Epstein’s crimes?
   
   
8. In one released email, Mark Epstein tells Jeffrey to ask Steve Bannon, “if Putin has the pictures of Trump blowing Bubba.” Who is Bubba? Do you know whether Vladimir Putin has any photos of you performing a sex act with someone named Bubba? 
   
   
9. In your Friday post, you claimed that “records show these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his ‘Island.’” What records are you referring to? Have you reviewed portions of the Epstein Files? Are you personally familiar with flight logs or other records related to the island?
   
   
10. Are you willing to answer these questions under oath? Would you be willing to waive any immunity you may have regarding Epstein and the release of records?

If the legacy media asks these 10 questions, we will have Trump’s answers on the record. We must hold his feet to the fire, and demand the truth about the Epstein Files.
